Operational Principle

The feed pipe is the pathway through which the material to be separated enters the cylinder. The acceleration cone accelerates it to speed, and it enters the separation zone between the cylindrical section of the drum and the scroll conveyor under the strong centrifugal field. The denser solid phase is propelled toward the drum wall, accumulates in the sediment zone, and is transported out of the machine by the scroll conveyor. The axial force component in the conical section propels the lighter liquid phase toward the light-phase outlet after it is displaced by the heavy phase and propelled to the surface of the settling pond. The liquid then forms an inner liquid ring that consists of a heavy liquid (usually water) and a light liquid (usually oil). These liquids discharge separately at the large end of the drum and converge freely before flowing out of the machine.
